I’ve previously mentioned how my husband has an incredible eye for design. He grew up watching his mom decorate their home and she is tops! Here are some pictures of affordable designs that we have included in our home! Keep in mind that adding some interior paint would definitely make these wall designs pop!
These picture frames and floating shelves were purchased from Ikea. We took the pictures ourselves and printed them super cheap at Walmart. The wall art was purchased from Kirkland’s.
We do most of our discount shopping at Kirkland’s, Michael’s Craft Store, and Hobby Lobby by using coupons. I use this handy little app on my phone called Coupon Sherpa. Check it out! Most of our picture frames have come from Ikea. We have the luxury of living 5 minutes from the Ikea in our city. If not, you can order super cheap decor from their online store.
These pieces were purchased with coupons at Kirkland’s and Hobby Lobby.
Here is our family room wall. The frames/shelves were purchased from Ikea. The wall decal was purchased with a 50% off coupon from Michael’s Craft Store.
I absolutely love the wall sayings. At one point, we had one in our hallway upstairs that said, “All because two people fell in love…” and we hung a picture of each of our kiddos in 8×10 picture frames. We since have redesigned that wall. All of our wall decals have been purchased with coupons. Those can get expensive!
Another great Kirkland’s clearance find! These pieces accent the wall leading up our staircase.
My husband discovered a great way to frame a meaningful saying without breaking the budget! We kept finding all these beautiful art pieces that were framed sayings that really spoke to us but were incredibly expensive to buy as is. He designed his own poster, printed it at Walmart or Walgreens and then framed it himself! Both of these turned out perfectly!
This hangs in our daughter’s bedroom as a beautiful reminder.
We display this piece at the top of our stairs so the children can read it and be reminded of our family rules.
This is my favorite decorative piece. My husband surprised me with displaying our wedding pictures and invitation. He hung a shelf and then used these frames to give them the look of floating on the shelf. This is displayed in our bedroom, on my side of the bed. I love looking at these pictures. It’s so sweet…
As you know…I LOVE garage sales! I have been known to find art work and decor for our bathrooms and kid’s bedrooms by bargain shopping garage sales and Goodwill. If you are a crafty person, it doesn’t take much to spray paint, sand, or “bling” out a piece of decor and breath new life into it!
We hope that these frugal ideas have given you some inspiration!
