This is the most delicious, mouth-watering, dangerously easy Salted Caramel Fudge Recipe! It’s dangerous because when I tell you how easy it is to make you’ll want to make it all the time and you will make it all the time because it is that easy.
I have a very deep love for all things chocolate. What’s even deeper is my love for all types of fudge. It started way back when I was a child growing up in Michigan.
Childhood Magic
So…there’s this magical, beautiful little island in northern Michigan called, Mackinac Island. You have to take a ferry-boat to the island and once you are there you are greeted with the beauty and wonder of its lush, green landscape and the smell of…you guessed it…fudge.
Seriously the best fudge on the planet is from this adorable little island in northern Michigan. Sure, it’s cool that the movie “Somewhere in Time,” was filmed there, and there’s truly a haunted hotel on the island, AND there are no cars allowed on the island. Literally, no cars on the island. You can only ride a bike or a horse. Yes, all of these things are what makes Mackinac Island so unique and thousands of people visit every year.
But what makes me visit is the fudge. What makes me long for another summer in northern Michigan are thoughts of fudge. Of course I’m looking forward to spending time with family! Of course I’m looking forward to another vacation in the wide open country. But what I dream about is fudge…Mackinac Island Salted Caramel Fudge. Yum, can you taste it?!
Remedy for the cravings…
So, with this constant yearning for my stomach’s desire I’ve created a quick fix to satisfy my fudge craving. No, it isn’t a Mackinac Island original fudge recipe, but it’ll do until I can get back to Michigan for more glorious fudge.
What’s super great about this fudge recipe is it only takes a few minutes to make! If you know me, you know I am queen of how to make fudge in 5 minutes or less. Today is no different!
Well…maybe a little different because this is by far my favorite of the 5 minutes fudge recipes because there’s caramel involved and…sea salt. You get that salty and sweet burst of flavor with every bite.
Are you ready to make Easy Salted Caramel Fudge…in your microwave? I know I am! Let’s get started!
As with all of my easy fudge recipes, there’s only 3 ingredients to make the fudge!
- 3 cups of semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 can (14 oz) of sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup of butter
Combine ingredients in a microwave safe bowl.
Put in microwave for 3 minutes, stir midway (careful, bowl will be hot).
Pour mixture into a baking dish sprayed with non-cooking spray. I use an 8×8 dish for thick fudge or a 13×9 dish for thinner fudge.
Wait for fudge to cool for about a half hour. Then drizzle your favorite caramel sauce on top. I’m not a fancy girl…I just used a small spoon to drizzle the caramel onto my fudge.
Hint: use a very thin layer of drizzle or you will have a big sticky gooey mess. It’ll still taste amazing but it will be difficult to slice and serve if there’s too much caramel drizzle OR if you try to put the caramel on top while the fudge is still warm.
Place baking dish of fudge in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours or until the fudge sets. Once fudge sets, take baking dish out of the refrigerator and sprinkle a light dusting of course flake sea salt on top. Then cut into wedges and serve!
Be very careful with this recipe…it’s SO easy to make and you will want to make it on a moments notice…because it’s that easy and because you can! Enjoy!

Just used this basic recipe, minus the caramel and sea salt and added some peppermint extract and crushed candy canes. Soooooo good and so creamy! Absolutely delicious.
This sounds amazing! I’ll be taking this to family dinner! Thanks for letting me know…I can’t wait to make your version of this recipe. 😉
