Doesn’t it seem like fall should change it’s name to “pumpkin?” With all the pumpkin flavors, smells, decor and well, just about everything! It seems fitting that it should just be “pumpkin.” I’m excited to share with you today an adorable, easy to assemble, DIY Pumpkin Race Poster Board Game that is perfect for the little people in your life!

Pumpkin Race Poster Board Assembly:
- Draw a large pumpkin on a piece of white poster board (don’t be too hard on yourself, free hand will do)
- Glue pumpkin shaped die-cuts or calendar cut-outs to the poster board by creating your own game board path, with a start and finish.
- Write the words, “start” and “finish” using a sharpie marker on 2 of the pumpkins.
- Take your game board to your local copy shop to have it laminated so that you can use it year after year.
Supplies for play:
- Player game pieces, like fall leaves, or any other small game pieces you have on hand
How to Play:
- Players place their game pieces on “start.”
- Player #1 rolls the die or spins the spinner.
- That player then chooses a flash card and has to correctly say what’s on the flash card before he/she can move their game piece as many spaces as they rolled. If player #1 doesn’t correctly name their flash card then they miss their turn.
- Player #2 proceeds as player #1 did.
- The game continues until the first player reaches the finish line.
Poster board is one of my most favorite DIY project supply pieces! The possibilities are endless!
I hope that this Pumpkin Race Game Board helps the little ones in your life grow in their academic skills while also having fun!
