Welcome Video + bloopers

Written by Mandy

Welcome VideoYou guys!  I am not comfortable in front of the camera at all.  My poor husband was a trooper (saint, my hero) while he helped me record my welcome video.

It went something like this…we spent 5 hours recording a 1 minute welcome video clip.  That doesn’t include editing.  Nope.  That’s just filming the raw footage with about 100 takes.  Can we say, “newbie.”  ahem.

I never thought in a million years I would be as bad as I was!  I mean…I’m no stranger to having attention on me, I grew up singing karaoke, I played sports for 10+ years, I don’t shy away from dancing in public AND I love to talk!

Yet…turn on a video camera, face it directly at me and I choke up!  I couldn’t even introduce myself without fumbling.  All I had to say was my name.  I couldn’t even do that.

It. Was. Brutal.

So…after 5 hours of recording…we scrapped the whole thing.  No joke.  We uploaded the cuts to the computer for editing and we hated it.

We decided to take a 2 day break and try again.

The second time around was much better.  This time it took less than an hour.

{one of us was especially relieved, not naming any names here}

Hey!  Nobody ever told me that speaking into the camera was so nerve-racking!

Without further adieu…here is the new Miss Mae’s Days “Welcome” video and be sure to watch until the end to see the bloopers.  You won’t want to miss that!

    Hello Miss Mae!! I just saw your post in Abby’s fb group… Love the video! And, I totally understand .. I did the same thing with my welcome video, but then after everything, decided I didn’t like it and took it down! Haha Guess I should maybe try it again! Btw, I love your logo… Was that part of your theme or did you have it made?

      Hi Ciara! Thanks for visiting and for the feedback! You should post your video again or have fun making a new one! 🙂 Yes, I actually paid somebody to work on my logo. My original logo was great but it was so worth it to pay (I think $30) for somebody to take it up a few notches. He also sent me all different sized files and created my little flower symbol to use for SM stuff. Thanks again for visiting, Ciara!

    Thanks for the encouragement! I will definitely create another one, now that I remembered it! There is so much to do for blogging! (I’m a newbie, if you can’t tell. ;)) And, that’s awesome about the logo.. They did a really great job! It’s so fun to look at.. 🙂 If you don’t mind me asking.. was it a fivver gig?

      Hi Ciara!
      I’m a “newbie” too! Aren’t we all?! There IS so much to learn. Just when I think I’ve checked a huge thing off my to do list, there’s 10 more. 🙂 I didn’t use fiverr.com for my logo work. We have used fiverr for lots of other things. Good luck on everything! I like your blog. Especially your bible verse of the day in your sidebar. Nice touch! 🙂
